Although resistant at first, I enjoyed the movement of group members. I ended up in a group with a few of the original members of my last group as well as some new members. I think this was a good mix because I knew how some thought already and they were able to expand on their thinking as well as I got to hear ideas from a new perspective. My group focused quite a bit on colonialism and the negative impacts of it. We spoke of how the oppressed seem to maintain the oppressed mentality therefore causing the loss of their native culture themselves (Fanon, 1956).
