Mr. Larievy (Bud) brought up a couple interesting topics in class today. What I noticed most about his presentation was the passion he displayed for his profession. He explained how his parents sufferred from prejudices as Polish people, in this country, but also in the context of recorded history. Bud spoke about how tracing issues back to a historical origin can be very insightful, such as the example of Teddy Roosevelt (well done Johnathan).
I think the topic of English immersion in classrooms is interesting. Bud brought up the political ideas and actions behind programs which don't allow other languages to be incorporated in the classroom. Most of agreed, but I would like to hear from someone who does not agree?
