ED435 7/19/2011

The discussion during today's class around which "ism" trumps in America and in the Urban schools was interesting. I believe "classism" is the most dominant in America, but the others do exisist. I guess at the end of the day, it doesn't matter which one trumps the other, but that we realize that all of these "ism's" exsist and need to be addressed. Our speaker today (principal of English High School) was phenomenol! I was very impressed with his thoughts and experiences and thank him for sharing them with us. My group then got into a conversation regarding whether or not "Quotas" are fair using the case against Boston Latin School a few years ago as the basis for a GREAT discussion.
